Penelope & Arthur

Ok, so hopefully you all remember Arthur, the cutest monster. If you don't, shame on you and click on the link! A few weekends ago, I was treated to a tasty breakfast and some photo fun with Arthur, his parents, and his new baby sister Penelope! Technically, the photo session was intended for Penelope, but we got a little creative when she was not in the mood to be messed with.
Little known secret, I have had an ongoing obsession with the matte style of editing lately...but it really clashes with my personal style of editing and shooting. This time, though, I focused on taking some photos specifically with the intention of editing them this way and was super excited that they came out as beautifully as they did! Some I felt were more evocative using my normal style, so you will get to see the mix. Towards the end of the morning, I confessed that I'd been wanting to crochet some baby hats, and a pumpkin hat for the holidays would be really cute. Turns out Arthur was a pumpkin the past year for Halloween and his mom pulled out the costume. Of course, this got him excited eager to try it on, despite all the protests that it probably didn't fit him anymore... and well, it had to be documented. I'll let you be the judge on whether it fits!

P.S. Check out the original photo of him and how cute he was back then too!

Sophie, Brian & Arthur

A little about this adorable family: Sophie and I went to college together (go photo majors!), and she was in need of some photographs as a present for her Mom. That's where I come in! You may recognize her oh-so-cute son, Arthur from his earlier debut on my blog!

Zach, Adrianna and Mackenzie

Another fall shoot was Zack and his family. I worked with Zack in the past, so it was wonderful for him to message me about doing some family photos for the Christmas season. We went to Agua Caliente park, which was a completely new location for me! I was really impressed with how prepared Adrianna was with some props and we even did a mini-session with just Mackenzie at the end! This was my first time shooting anyone under 5 with others. Let me tell you, I have a lot more respect for baby photographers! I wish I had gotten more with everyone focused on the camera, but we still managed to get some fun ones!

Brittney, Justin and Bella

Hello, long time no see! I am terrible at keeping up with this blog. I wanted to share a few photos from one of my shoots this past fall. Now, I know what you're thinking. "This past fall? It's January!!!" Well, I can't argue with that. I haven't really spent a lot of time on my computer besides to edit and check email, glance at facebook, etc. Shame on me, I know! Anyways, on to the good stuff.

Brittney called me up for some family photos in November and we set up a date to shoot. We had a fun time in the area near the Arizona Inn, so much so that we were late getting over to our second shoot area - the Presidio Park area. Long story short, we got some great shots in the first location, but I wish more of the second location had come out better. I want to shoot there again sometime, not when it's super dark! Here are some of their photos!

Sayef and Duha on the 9th

I photographed both the ceremony on the 9th of June for Sayef and Duha and their wedding on the 15th. I can't deny, I learned a lot from both events, technically and culturally. Sayef's family were absolutely welcoming and very willing subjects for photographs, not to mention incredibly photogenic! Having never met the couple prior to contracting me, this was a major leap in working on my own. I definitely would have liked to correct some mistakes, but I know better for next time.
